I agree with you about this one...
Unless they are REALLY doing a HUGE change in
Quality & Customer Relations.. I would stay away
I purchased a 17" laptop and when I got home and tried to register it
online as they said to... (went to the url they said to go to)
It took about 5 times and to even get to the correct page
and then they said that the NEW laptop "in box" from a
Reputable Retailer...that the Serial number on the laptop I was
"looking at" DID NOT EVEN Exist. So I could NOT even Register
the fricken thing. I made "screenshots" and made phone calls and
got Absolutely NOwhere....
Of course, I purchased the store's 3 yr extended warranty....
However, this turned out to be at the beginning of this wonderful
economic downturn and the store closed it's branches near me
about 2 months after my purchase.. I would have to ship the
laptop about 100 miles, and await what they had to say...
NOT acceptable,as I needed this laptop for work EVERYDAY.
A local "Tech 2 YOU" repair place has quoted me about $300
to repair the broken DC power socket pin. Heck they are selling
NEW laptops for that now... I was Happy with the laptop
while it worked however the letter/numbers wore OFF the keyboard
and I had to paint them back on within a few months....
So to PC's and Acer in specific I say....Burn me once Shame on you,
Burn me twice Shame on me... PC's and Acer have used up
their turns.. Same for Dell....as the bird says.. NEVERMORE
anyone know any repair franchise besides tech2you ?
Thats' Quality? yet Reasonable?
I have been advised to stay away from the Best Buy tech dept.
If reasonable, I might get it repaired and give it to a friend.
I have ruled out all other defect possibilities with other
tech friends, purchased a new power adapter cord
and then the pin disappeared.... I would like to get
my info off of it at least...first.
Thanks and sorry for Acer ....
