The computer being on 24/7 is a problem.
I had problems for a while with alot of empty pauses in voice calling one state over but they updated the firmware and I have not the problem anymore.
The device failed to install on a Dell computer with Windows XP but I have not tried to install it since the upgraded firmware. I can see a huge problem if 1 out of 3 computers it flat out will not work on... as in my case.
The one I use for my main line has problems where the username/password is corrupted or something on the devices internal drive and it will keep asking for the username/password unless I completely unplug the device, reboot and plug it back in. It may be a problem with the USB power failing or something after a long period of time or Windows XP failing after being on for a long period of time.
Still for practically free, it works fine for a home line for me. If you want a regular phone with voice mail and don't intend to use it much, it is a cheap way to do it and you don't need to have the device plugged in ever for the voice mail to work.
I would not expect great customer service or tech support from the company.
Their International call rates are too high, skype or rebtel.com is cheaper.
I would not use this device for business that is for sure.
There is a magicjack 3rd party help forum if you search Google.
