Did you get the standard, "must have been damaged in shipping" line? I used to sell PCs in the '90s. Never seen so many customer complain and get that response before from a company.
They installed a beta version of BIOS, then Danny read across the phone to me BIOS-related errors in my Vista log file. When I knew what those errors meant, and pointed out they are BIOS errors and probably stemmed from the BIOS software they flashed into my motherboard, he was obviously off guard. He did not expect someone to understand those errors.
These guys had better get in gear with my refund. They do not understand who they are messing with. I am not some 18 year old kid that will walk away when they even have a portion of my money. I will start with a simple credit card dispute, move to negative reviews here, at Epinions, FeedbackPlanet, AngiesList (which I subscribe to) and everywhere else. I will go on to BBB complaints and their Attorney General (who, I'm sure, has heard from others). I will complain to everyone if they try to keep as little as $10 of my money.
I truly hate that it didn't work out. I still have not bought a replacement PC because I can't bring myself to pay $2400-$3200 for an equivalent PC. However, we were a month into a struggle that I could see what only going to get worse. You would think they could say, "Okay, this didn't work out. The PC has problems. Let's just refund the guy's money." But nope... it's all about finger-pointing to try to hit customers with a restocking fee or shipping fees or anything to cover their costs.
Not a good experience.
Edit: Btw, RR reinstated that guy's review when he provided proof that he purchased. You should send them proof. Don't let your review get thrown away by a cheating company! |
Look into Dell refurb?
I bought an XPS 435Mt Intel Core i7-920 FS $639/PSU 360W/ 4GB DDR3 SDRAM/512MB ATI Radeon HD 4850
for ONLY 4639. Got it out of box, inspected it MINT brand new screaming speed.
the Mt(Mini-Tower) may not be for you if you wnat to mod, but similar deals can be had.
I will either add 6G (3x2) and take one of the 1G's out, or ad 2g(2x1). That will allow either 6 or 9G ddr3 tri chanel Ram with top notch video card and i7 processor, for around $700. It comes with 1 year on site next day service.
