On January 29, 2008 I purchased a new Gateway LCD Monitor, HD2200 from Newegg. What they shipped was a banged up monitor in a generic box clearly marked as containing a Refurbished monitor. If I had wanted a refurbished monitor one I could have gotten it cheaper from a number of other reputable sources.

After a week and three emails to customer service, I received an email that said new monitors are out of stock and in 7-10 days I should be given information as to how to send it back for refund.

If this is a common practice instead of a one time error I expect their legal troubles will soon put Newegg.com out of business.
