My 2 1/2 month experience with Computerbrain.com
On 11/11/08 I ordered, online a USB microscope, the price was right and it was listed as IN STOCK.
Two days later, I received a phone message that the item was on back order.
I called and was told it was due in next week, I asked to be kept apprised as it was to be a Christmas gift.
At the end of the next week, no call, no email. So I called again and was told it would be arrive from supplier the end of November. A little miffed at not being contacted about this change I again asked to be kept informed.
On November 29th I called again since I had not gotten an update or a shipping notice. I repeated my displeasure about not being kept informed, and told the "customer service person" on the other end of the line to make a note of this in my record and to inform the sales manager. The item was now due to arrive the first week of December 2008, a month after I ordered an "IN STOCK" item.
At the end of the first week in December I had to call again as I had had no contact by COMPUTERBRAIN.COM only to be told that the item was now on back order until the end of December. I was quite angry and asked to speak to a manager. I was told by the poor "customer service person" that no one was available but that my request would be passed on to the appropriate personnel. The next day I called again as I had yet to be contacted in any way and talked to the service manager, who apologized and said that their supplier was at fault and the situation was out of their control. We spoke about who was damaged by these false advertising "IN STOCK" claims and the lack of customer contacts. I was promised that should any changes to the now first week of JANUARY 2009 due date would be relayed to me by phone or email. AGAIN the time passed and no contact was made until I called COMPUTERBRAIN.com to find that AGAIN no one is available except the poor "customer service person" and that the item was again BACK ORDERED...
I did not wait to hear what imaginary due date was now going to be claimed.
I have canceled my order and contacted my bank to cancel the card and be issued another.
I would suggest in the most strongest terms to never do any transactions with this company. I have dealt with a number of on line corporations, "IN STOCK" means just that, but NOT when it comes to COMPUTERBRAIN.com. All their items are in stock, until you order it. Then the only thing they are in full supply of is LIES and feeble excuses. Do yourself, me, and every other person who would like to purchase items from on line sources a very big favor. Lets put companies like this OUT OF BUSINESS by doing no business with them for any reason.
