DiscountLaptops New Ownership and ATS Warranty Dispute
If you are a Discountlaptops Customer Who Made a Purchase Before June 1st 2007 - Please Read This Important Information
After a long and very costly dispute with our former warranty provider Ardent Technical Services, DiscountLaptops, Inc. (DL) has exhausted the resources needed to continue on under it's current business model and has been acquired by new ownership as of May 31st 2007. The corporation known as Discountlaptops, Inc. has been dissolved and all assets have been acquired by the very capable hands of The Intechrity Group, LLC, a Nevada corporation whose owners have been successful in the laptop business for many years.
In October of 2006 DL filed legal suit against ATS Warranty (ATS), a 3rd party warranty provider for many "Whitebook" laptop resellers, for failure to service contracts in place with a large number of DL customers. If you purchased an ADP, Extended or Onsite Protection Plan from ATS via Discountlaptops, Inc. we regret to inform you that ATS has filed both personal and corporate bankruptcy and has made no plans to service the warranty agreements that they entered into in the past. You are welcome to contact them regarding any warranty agreements or repairs at the numbers posted on their web site at www.atswarranty.com
ATS received full payment from DiscountLaptops.com for all service contracts sold to date. While ATS is a warranty provider, DL is a marketing organization. DL resells products from industry solution providers. All products offered by DL are serviced by that respective 3rd party, whether that item sold be a notebook computer, a software package, a peripheral, an accessory, or a service contract. We care about our customers, and are determined to represent the best interests of our customers according to our abilities and resources.
DL had provided ATS with several options to remedy the situation, all of which were refused. As a result, DiscountLaptops.com filed a costly suit against ATS Warranty in the state of Tennessee. Below are the actual public documents filed in the Courts of TN.

We want all to know, DL has the best interest of its customers at hand and did everything legally and economically feasible to ensure warranty service to our customers via this third party service provider. The Intechrity group, LLC is not associated with and has no legal responsibility whatsoever to service or supply services to ATS contract holders or any other contracts held by the previous owner's or customers of DL or ATS.

It appears that the company that held your warranty contract went out of business. It appears that ATS Warranty gave 19 days notice of their intent to stop servicing over 1,200 contracts and that Discountlaptops.com INC. sued for 'Breach of Contract' and a few other things for ~$150,000. This all took place AUG-OCT 2006. (Go to the website to view these documents)
Also, it appears that Discountlaptops.com INC. had to sell itself off and is now under new ownership.

Your warranty/service contract was with 'ATS Warranty Inc' not 'Discountlaptops Inc.'. I had a similar experience about 20 years ago. Luckily, another 3rd party contractor picked up the warranty/service contract. In your case that did not happen. I'd point out that many 'extended warranties' are through 3rd party companies. Personally, I don't use these type of services nor recommend them.

Not that it matters really, neither company is in business any longer. It appears that 'The Intechrity group LLC' took over the assets of 'Discountlaptops Inc.' but not any of the liabilities.
Here is the
Nevada SoS registration for Discountlaptops.com, INC. showing they were dissolved on 26SEP2007. That's 4 months later then stated on the website. They also appear to have been a family run or small business.
