Almost fell prey but backed out at the last second.....
Here's how it went down for me.....
Found their price on a Sony HD Camcorder and it was so below the competition, my warning bells went off immediately but I decided to check it out anyway....
Went to register to order online and was a bit miffed when they asked for my email and then my password. Initially I thought they were doing it in the hopes that people wouldn't think and would actually give them their email passwords but I realized too that they could be asking someone to set up a password to access their account there. Either way, it wasn't clearly stated so I decided to call the 800 number to see if I could get a live human on the line.
I called and a guy answered so I told him based on the insanely low price I just wanted to speak with someone in person to see how they can charge such a low price. If I had gotten a reasonable answer, I would have probably placed my order then and there. Instead the guy said in a very short, gruff tone and heavy New YAWK accent...."Do you want to buy a camera or not, sir?" I told him again, yes I do but I want to feel sure I'm not getting ripped off. *click* He hung up on me.
Not a good way to keep customers happy there, Vito! I'll pass on them. But thanks to that experience I found this forum so it's still good in the end!
