I'm in the same boat, but I don't think the Roseville PD has my laptop.

Even if they did, I'm still out $300. I'm in Maryland, so it's silly for me to bring a civil suit and travel to CA.
So, I wonder if it makes sense for all of us who are in that position to bring suit together?
