CROOKS
I too was scammed by these bums. Fortunately my credit card promises to reimburse me.
It started with the e-mail "call us to confirm your order." Uh-oh. I called, and they insisted on "upgrading" me. I went along and later woke up. One item they wanted $299 for (a battery charger for the Canon XL2) I can get for about $20! And, I realized that the new total was about $500 higher than it should have been after the upgrades.
When I tried to call back, a voice message said they were "closed" for the next two days - a Tuesday and Wednesday. ? So I e-mail them.
Soon my credit card company calls to verify two large charges. Two? That's right - from Express Cameras. One charge was something over $5000. The other charge was around $1200. A total of about $6200. Express Camera had told me my order would cost about $4900. Two? I didn't order anything else from these bums.
How does a $4900 order become charges to my credit card for $6200?
I deny all charges and immediately e-mail Express Camera to cancel my order.
Do they cancel it? No. Remember, they're "closed."
At night I get a phone call. "Andrew" is pushy though I tell him I canceled the order. He keeps pushing, I hang up.
He spends the next half hour calling me. I don't answer him: I call my credit card company instead.
They tell me Express Camera has been trying to put through charges on my account ALL DAY LONG! They succeeded in slipping one through for about $5600.
I canceled the card immediately and got a promise to be reimbursed for the amount. Then I listened to my voice mail..."Andrew" says he doesn't appreciate my "hanging up in his face." I check my e-mail. Express Cameras has just written me they already shipped the order. Bullsh*t. I wrote back that I'll return anything they sent me, and told them to f off.
Only once before did I ever get scammed like this, and it was another gang of Russians punks in Brooklyn (selling me a bad mattress).
Please, stay away from Express Camera. They are crooks pure and simple.
