The machine had no OS on the hard drive, i'd fdisk, then formatted the hardrive, then went to install the OS(ME) , and it stated on the screen it didnt have a driver for the Cdrom . I was using a windows98 startup disk with all this .Any HElp?? thanks again, joe |
Dude the machine has to BE TURNED OFF first! You cannot do the ctrl alt del thing. Turn machine off. NO power get it? With the win98 start up disk in it , it will ask you if you want to start the node with cd rom support. you must have both the floppy and the Winme in their slots. Now after it boots from the floppy after loading the cd drivers you hit the ctrl alt del to boot to the CDrom.
This is the trick and it works everytime, unless your cdrom drive is fried.
