Mr. Vegas is on a distinguished road
A&M Photo World (Fradulent Business Practices) *PLEASE READ*

I have never dealt with Express Cameras but since someone did mention both A&M Photo World and BwayPhoto (which is one in the same) I'd thought I'd provide some info:

Buyer Beware!!! (www.amphotoworld.com)

While my situation is somewhat resolved (still awaiting a partial credit card refund) I would like to make everyone aware of what most people would consider Fraudulent Business Practices. If anyone has had any experience with this company to please contact the following:

FTC (Federal Trade Commission)
Office of the New York State Attorney General
BBB (Better Business Bureau)
NYC Dept. of Consumer Affairs
NY State Consumer Protection Board
IFCC (Internet Fraud Complaint Center)

and any others you can find.

To make a long story short:

A&M Photo World
337 East 89th St.
Brooklyn, NY 11236

I believe they also go by the name of bwayphoto.

Item: Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel Camera

I received a used/refurbished unit that didn't even work. It was also very scratched and nicked and was missing its Battery Compartment Cover. And better yet there was NO Manufacturers Warranty in the box. They offered an exchange where I would have to pay for my own shipping to send back the damaged unit they sent me...???

Like the other 150 "known" complaints, known being the keyword - I'm sure there are others out there, each and every situation seems quite similar. Follow link for all complaints:

Also below is the response I received from the FTC within a day or two of notifying them:

Re: FTC Ref. No. 4527744

Dear ****:

Thank you for recent correspondence. The Federal Trade Commission acts in the public interest to stop business practices that violate the laws it enforces. Letters from consumers and businesses are very important to the work of the Commission. They are often the first indication of a problem in the marketplace and may provide the initial evidence to begin an investigation. The Commission does not resolve individual complaints. The Commission can, however, act when it sees a pattern of possible violations developing.

The information you have provided will be recorded in our complaint retention system. This computerized system enables us to identify questionable business practices that are generating numerous complaints and may be in violation of the law.

Thank you for providing information that may be used to develop or support Commission enforcement initiatives.

Sincerely yours,

Consumer Response Center

So I would say that considering numerous complaints listed (http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1988.html) the pattern is there. So I urge all those who have had any dealings with A&M Photo World that you contact all those agencies listed above, especially the FTC.
