I read all of the negative reviews here and can only think "I must be Lucky". I have purchased numerous items from buy.com and haven't had a problem YET. I give them one more thumbs up...

Buy.com is the first place I look when I want to look for any kind of electronics or computer gear. Their selection and prices are consistently among the best, their checkout procedure is better than almost anyone's and every one of dozens of transactions I've done has been excellent. Highly recommended seller.

Ordered an SanDisk 8GB Mobile Ultra microSD High Capacity Card and received it in 3 days with the free shipping. Didn't even need me to use customer service or return anything. Very reliable online retailer!

This is the most unreliable company I have ever made a purchase from. They are nothing but thieves. Talk about shuck and jive, they are masters of deception. I think the problem is with the owner and founder, Scott Blum.

Buy.com Buyers Beware!!!!!
I have been shopping at buy.com for many years. I was a very happy and satisfied buyer from buy.com for a long time until the last two years, 2007 to 2008. I closed my nose, covered my eyes and placed an order for an 8GB flash drive on August 18, 2008, due to its low price and free shipping. It is September 02, 2008 and I still have not received my order from buy.com. When I check on my order each day, the message "Sent to warehouse" pops up in my order page.
I have sent many emails inquiring about my order only to be told in the replies "Your order is out-of-stock. We have escalated our order bla bla bla"
Do NOT buy anything from buy.com unless you have money to throw out the window. I know many had said they never had any problems with buy.com and been extremely satisfied with that on-line company. I feel that way myself for the first many years until now.
I will never buy from that company again once my flash drive arrives. The reason I did not want to cancel the order was I had some bad experience with buy.com in the past, regarding return and did not want any more screws up now.
The customer service rep. was rude and incompetent then and I do not think the situation improves since then.
Beware!!!!!!
9/2/08 buy.com saga continues....
I received a sale email from buy.com today (I'm on their email subscriber list) with the exact same item they had withheld from me since August 18, 2008. I went and checked on my order and the same'ol message "Sent to warehouse" is still on my account. I now believe this is their baiting tactic to get people to buy this product.
If you really want to buy one, Newegg.com has one for a few dollars more. If I had known buy.com has gone this way in cheating customers, I would have purchased mine at newegg.com.
I emailed buy.com's customer service and got a reply stating the order is still out of stock and on back-order.
Folks, stay away from buy.com. I wish I had more ways to expose this shady company to as many people as possible.
Save your head/heart ache and buy somewhere else.

Ordered a Samsung 2253BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor for $299 also received a $50 instant rebate plus a $40 MIR. Total cost $209 (free shipping)
Ordered on 29APR2008, item received 2MAY2008. I did not pay for faster shipping and the product arrived in 3 days anyway. MIR also processed without any problems by 17JUL2008. I mailed it in ~15MAY, so 7 weeks.
I recommend not choosing the faster shipping, which they usually charge you for, as their shipping is pretty fast anyways. I've Also been ordering from this company for a few years and have never had any difficulties. I have never had to use their 'Customer Service' nor had to return anything so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business.

Worst online buying expirence I've ever had. I think I bought my first online item around 1993-4ish. So that's saying alot. Purchased it 8/19. My money is on hold with my bank. It's the end of 8/28 now and my order has not shipped. Canned answers from Buy.com on the status. No ETA. Word has it that it will take days to cancel. STAY AWAY
